Scanning for Lifeforms

This challenge addresses a pressing global need to track change in biological diversity, which is threatened by human-driven environmental change. Use space agency data to develop innovative ways to detect biological diversity on Earth, track and predict changes over time, and communicate that information to scientists and society.

Saving Endemic Plants

Summary

Endemic plants are in danger because of climate change and human activities. Our goal is to detect which ones are in danger and how big is the danger. The way that we are going to do this is by creating a website which will collect datum from satellites. The datum will be analyzed and according to datum the site will show severity of the danger the plant is in. This will help us to get precaution and save endemic plants.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed an innovative idea to detect endemic plants which are in danger. Endemic plants are important because if they get extint the ecosystem continuity will get damaged as well.It dedects endemic plants species which are in danger. It collects datum from satellites and analyze it.We are hoping to save endemic plants.

How We Developed This Project

The reason why we chose this challenge is that we wanted to do something about saving endemic plants. Our approach was gathering information from plenty of websites and use them in different ways.We used NASA Earthdata and NASA Worldview. Our idea changed a lot along the way that caused us to sleep less which made us less efficent. I think we managed to deal with situation well. We learned how to work as a team.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Informations we got from NASA Earthdata showed us that our project is possible with NASA datum.
