Orbital Scrap Metal – The Video Game V2.0

Orbital debris is an ever-increasing threat to space assets such as Earth observation satellites and space stations and explorers. Your challenge is to create an orbital debris collection videogame web-app and imagine the possibilities of new companies that collect orbital debris and salvage the scrap metal to manufacture new products in space.

Space Simulator

Summary

Space Simulator is a thrilling space debris collecting game. You play as a spaceship, exploring the cold wasteland known as space to find and collect valuable materials while blasting asteroids. After extracting the materials, you will be able to upgrade your spaceship to make it more efficient. But while you are doing your job, be reminded to avoid the uncompromising asteroids that can ruin all your progress if you're unfortunate enough to stumble into its path.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We are creating a game to explore the possibilities of salvaging the space junk and turn them into useful upgrades to the spaceships. It is made to inspire people about new technology and possibly make them develop the technology in the future.

How We Developed This Project

We were always inspired by NASA and Space in general. So, when this competition was announced and we learned it is being hosted by NASA we knew we had to join.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The information from NASA about space debris and materials in Satellites, and the ongoing research on space nets used for collecting debris are all considered for our project.
