Planet, With People

Your challenge is to build on the Human Planet Initiative of the Group on Earth Observations to apply new methods for mapping attributes of human populations. How can Human Planet data from NASA and other sources be used to improve or update maps or other information important to a problem that concerns you? Design or create a tool or service to accomplish this.

ANTHEM-CSO (Mars Carbon Dioxide Solar Energy Oxygen)

Summary

As known, It is considered to live on Mars, but the atmosphere contains %95.97 of CO2 and %0.146 of O2.Human beings require Oxygen to pursue life. Our mission is to use the energy obtained from solar panels to convert CO2 into O2.Solar Panels separate atoms to obtain electricity. Our mission is to use the energy to acquire O2. We’ ll use the O2 to colonize on Mars and the CO as a resource to spacecrafts. Its structure is very similar to satellites. When the tool is sent to space, ANTHEM-CSO will not position right away, but it will find the most efficient place to produce Solar Energy. To conclude, the transportation will be as ergonomic as them.

How We Addressed This Challenge

With the help of tool ANTHEM- CSO, we’ll help the studies for colonizing on Mars by using solar panels to convert CO2 into O2. Our project is unique to its own, and one of a kind for colonizing on Mars. By producing its own energy and obtaining O2, it is a brilliant innovation case. When the tool is sent to space, ANTHEM-CSO will not position right away, but it will find the most efficient place to produce Solar Energy. The energy will convert CO2 in the CO2 collectors into O2. To pursue human life we will generate CO2 as a resource for our spacecrafts.

How We Developed This Project

As mentioned, the curiosity of how to colonize on Mars made us work on this project. For developing this project; we followed the management segments Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and Closure. The modeling programme Autodesk Tinkercad, helped us build the Solar Panelled CO2 Collector ANTHEM-CSO. The best accomplishments were finding out the project can be proven, and it can be applied in real life. The problem was to design the tool. The craft was hard to figure from wings to body and to stands, but finally achieved.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The idea of colonizing on Mars to pursue human life, lead us to this project. By the open data NASA provided us, we collected information about Martian atmosphere such as the amount of CO2 gases compared to O2 gases. After that, the data carried us to think about using solar panels to provide energy used for CO2 convertion into O2.
