Team-Stella has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
Healthcare is one of the most basic needs of a human being. There is no inhabited place on earth without a healthcare system. So managing these systems and informing people about them is directly connected to this concept. For that matter, we decided to develop an app, using the data of human population distribution, especially at and around hospitals, to better inform people about which hospital might be of best service to them. What we hope to achieve is helping this “planet with people” to have better, faster and more efficient healthcare systems.
Medseek is an app we developed after reminiscing on shared experiences. All of our team members had in one way or another encountered distasteful situations, such as shortage of personnel or emergency rooms filled to the brim with people, which were essentially caused by the ineffective identification of overcrowded hospitals. Our aim is to minimize this chaos by detecting overcrowded health care centers using the app we designed and ensuring that people get treated in the safest and quickest way possible. To achieve this we utilized Java, Adobe XD, Android Studio, React Native and Google Map Libraries. None of us had any serious experience of coding or hackathons and figuring out how to program the app was likely what we spent the most time on.
We based our project on a city-scale and therefore the use of space agency data was less to write algorithms and more to educate ourselves on certain topics related to our challenge. We utilized the data from partner agencies to create graphs which would then help us determine our path.
