A game was developed to raise awareness about the problems caused by climate change, taking as a sample the city of Guayaquil-Ecuador, currently our city suffers from excessive heat, floods, poor waste management, few green areas, pollution from sources of water, lack of urban planning. The game will allow to predict how the city will be based on the decisions made by the user, that is, the user will be able to address all the problems that the city has, such as those mentioned above. You will be presented with options and challenges on how to improve the city, such as the construction of bio-architectural buildings, alternative energy sources, non-polluting forms of transport, inclusion of green areas, better ways to treat and take advantage of waste, among others.
Most people are not aware that climate change is real and sooner or later it will affect us to a great extent, the objective is to make people aware of the consequences of their good and bad decisions, with this we can take data on how people they envision the future and how they act in the face of disasters.
This challenge was chosen because we want everyone to know that climate change is real, as well as their opinion on this issue. We focus on the problems our city currently has and find a way to solve them.
For our project we have developed mockups of how the game will look on a mobile phone, to continue with the evolution of the game we will use real data on the climate, population density, amount of CO2, which will be present as indicators in the game. In addition to being able to make predictions of how the climate will evolve within the virtual city, using machine learning algorithms.
We use the data as the starting point of the game, in the city you will have current data of temperature, humidity, vegetation index, population density, etc. In addition, the data will help us to predict, with machine learning techniques, how it will affect it according to the decisions made by the user. We will also use a traffic image dataset to precede traffic.
