Sleep loss and fatigue may lead to reduced performance and an increased risk to safety during many activities, including spaceflight. Your challenge is to develop an operational sleep shift scheduling tool that provides autonomous customization of a schedule for sleep, exercise, and nutrition to manage fatigue.

Summary

Our Project takes various inputs from the user and provides a weekly schedule color coded for Sleep and Exercise. It also provides the users recommended dose of nutrition according to their physical attributes. It is user friendly by using gui and simple calculations and conditions. This project Takes inputs such as the sleeping time, exercise time, age , height, weight, gender. The output is the sleep time, which is a constant 8 hours per day, The exercise time is 2 hours per day and the nutritional requirement per day is calculated according to the users height, weight, age and gender using the standard BEE formula and the unit is kcal/day.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed a python script using various aspects of python programming and its modules. It is important because it tackles the issues brought by the challenge. It is also useful for astronauts as it prevents them from fatigue due to improper sleep and exercise patterns

How We Developed This Project

We used python programming to perform simple calculations and meet certain conditions. We also provided a gui to make the project user friendly. We were aspired to choose this challenge because even common people have sleep shifting problems and suffer from fatigue and insomnia

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used spaceflight.nasa.gov to check the height, weight and exercise requirements of astronauts to calculate the BEE value of nutrition for both male and female astronauts
