The main theme of the challenge is to enhance sleep and fix the circadian rhythm while considering food and exercising. So, we made an app that connects all these three topics but in a way that would eventually help obtain better sleep. we studied the effect of food and exercise on sleep and we designed a schedule that include these considerations such as the amount of food and exercise and when to exercise. we designed a tool that schedule the day and its activities in attempt to provide each person with the need 8 hours of sleep per day considering the naps and the shifts between the crew members to help keep the work running but without any exhaustion to any member.
Walking through all the amazing challenges in the hackathon this year we were amazed by many of them but at last, we chose to work on the challenge that we can create many ideas in it we chose the sleep shift scheduling tool challenge because till now there isn’t a tool that organizes all aspects of astronauts life, so it would be a new and a useful tool, Heath is a very important thing that everyone should take care of, and it’s a great thing to help astronauts as well as people to do that, There are a lot of problems in astronauts life, and it needs something to help them solve it, and because We thought about the great difference that can come in the life of astronauts after making this application so, we were encouraged to work on it, so, we take many steps to develop it which can be the most important step was the good research we did, organizing everything and making a lot of brainstorms to collect every possible idea we began working on the application and it’s almost finished, to develop our project we used the following tools: Flutter framework, Android Studio, Fire base database management, The logo creator website, regarding the problems we faced I think the biggest one was the shortness of our time so we were stressed trying to make everything fast and well done, but that’s easy while have a co-operative team that always help each other, by ourselves we reach this point with an application with a lot of amazing features to help astronauts in their life and that’s a big achievement.
The data offered information about the astronauts' sleep, the problems they face and the causes of these problems which supported us with a better understanding of the problem and how the solution would look like. The data also included some countermeasures that would enhance the sleep which we considered in our app. The data provided information about medications prescribed by doctors in special cases so we tried to make an interaction between the app and the doctors so they can prescribe medications if needed and the app would make sure that they take these medications on time. Also the sleep shift schedule that was provided in one of the references helped us in building the schedule.
