To develop this project, we made it on the sub-headings of our priority problem. We investigated what causes astronauts' sleep problem in space, and whether there is a study to solve this problem in space. We obtained information about the lives of astronauts in space with NASA data.
We examined the Word and pdf files containing NASA data. We took notes by watching youtube videos of NASA experts and NASA astronauts on the subject. We created the design with the Tinkercad program. There were 4 middle school students in our team. They were very good at clarifying the problem and obtaining data on the problem and its solution. They had a hard time researching and presenting it for a long time due to fatigue and sleep problems.
We investigated how the astronauts sleep on the space station. We examined the factors that prevent astronauts from sleeping. We talked about what we can do to overcome these obstacles with our team. We searched for the science of what we talked about.
We did research on how astronauts sleep, what kind of environment they need to sleep, and why they cannot sleep.
The research results are as follows:
1. Astronouts see 16 sunrise in a day on space. So they see a lot of changes from dark to light. Because of these astronouts can’t sleep very well. By the way astronouts say that they see star clusters when they close their eyes. The reason of seeing star clusters are is some rays.
2. All astronouts has different circadien systems. Astronouts circadien systems are not reset at the same time. By the way their circadien systems are not reset with the same way. The factors of effecting to circadien systems are light jet lag ang melatonin hormone.
3. Light is the most important thing that effects the circadien system. Jet lag means that traveling between different time lines. Melatonin hormone is secreted between the clock 11 and 3 and its so long to space because in space melatonin hormone is secretedbetween the clock 2 and 4. So the time between the space and earth is so much because of this, astronouts will have less resistance to sleeplesness.
We examined the Word and pdf files containing NASA data. We took notes by watching youtube videos of NASA experts and NASA astronauts on the subject. These data contributed to the development of our Project and to find a solution to the problem.
