Sleep Shift Scheduling Tool

Sleep loss and fatigue may lead to reduced performance and an increased risk to safety during many activities, including spaceflight. Your challenge is to develop an operational sleep shift scheduling tool that provides autonomous customization of a schedule for sleep, exercise, and nutrition to manage fatigue.

Sleep Shift Scheduling tool

Summary

The project is an app which helps people on earth and in space to have a healthy schedule which will help them be more productive.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We developed an app which allows the user to set a schedule and follow it every day. It's important because people need to get enough sleep, nutrition and excercise to live a healthy life. The app allows this because it combines all these needs and provides good recommendations for the people who use it. We're hoping to help everyone have a fixed schedule and not suffer from fatigue.

How We Developed This Project

We decided to work on this challenge because we relate to it a lot. As univercity students we know very well how tiring and long days can be if you don't get enough sleep, food or excercise. We used JavaScript along with HTML and CSS to create the app and Logisim to create an alarm which is a good addition to a scheduling app.

We couldn't complete our project in time but we're still happy with how it turned out. Our biggest issue was time but we also had some problems with the Logisim circuit that we made.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We we're planning to use data from ISS Fit to add different meals to the schedules but we didn't get to that point. We listened very carefully to Pamela Baskin's youtube video on the subject and we made some research on what equipment astronauts need. We couldn't implement a lot of the information we found simply because we didn't get to that point which we're very sorry to announce.
