Sleep Shift Scheduling Tool

Sleep loss and fatigue may lead to reduced performance and an increased risk to safety during many activities, including spaceflight. Your challenge is to develop an operational sleep shift scheduling tool that provides autonomous customization of a schedule for sleep, exercise, and nutrition to manage fatigue.

Sleep cover

Summary

Sleep Cover was designed to provide astronauts with a better sleep capacity to reduce insomnia and to be able to carry out their space activities correctly. With our device, astronauts will be able to have a better monitoring of themselves , also Sleep Cover has links to their smart devices that will allow them to know their status of calories, temperature, pressure and stress, all this in order to find better opportunities for the user to improve and have a better performance.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We decided to create a device that synchronizes with your heart rate to have own data from the astronaut and personalize its sleep cycle, it also have neutonic technology that helps to give a better sleep experience adding music and heat to induce faster the sleep

How We Developed This Project

To develop our Project, we search techniques that can help improve sleep in people. We were very inspired by the techniques of spas to relax people and technological products such as a band of neutonic technology. Our approach was to be able to interview different age people about their difficulties while sleeping, and most agreed that it was due to noise or stress. Some tools we use are SolidWorks to have a first design of our product and also Python to represent a code capable of measuring the calories of an astronaut based on their consumed food.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

Nasa Data was important to know the principles problems of astronauts and to kwon what are the solutions or options they use to sleep better. For example, with the data given us, we learn about pills that astronauts use and also that is something we use inspired us to find a solution
