Sustaining Our Planet for Future Generations

The Challenge

There is concern worldwide that environmental issues we face today will have an impact on future generations. Your challenge is to create a way to communicate the importance of environmental responsibility to people of all ages.

Note: There is no age requirement or limit for this challenge. Space Apps does not collect age information from participants.

Background:

Concerns about the health of our home planet have grown dramatically across the globe in recent decades. However, some recent studies provide evidence of a generational gap, with younger generations increasingly citing environmental issues as a top concern. This tension has come into the public eye as young people around the world have called attention to the impacts that current policies and inaction will have on future generations.

Your challenge is to communicate the importance of sustaining our home planet to people of all generations. What do you consider to be the most pressing concerns? What is the message you want to send? And what are the most effective ways of communicating that message and connecting with people across generations?

Your submission may be in any form. It can utilize digital technology, incorporate artwork, and/or emphasize a communications strategy. Consider how you can utilize NASA data in creative ways -- to inform yourself and others, or as visual inspiration.

Potential Considerations:

● You might consider environmental issues such as marine pollution, air pollution, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, etc. There is no limit!

● How can your submission engage younger generations that are not as involved with these environmental issues, as well as older generations?
