The International Space Apps Challenge was such a success in its early years that it has now become an annual event. The purpose of the event is to continue to give people everywhere an unprecedented opportunity to use NASA data to develop meaningful solutions to help to address critical needs applicable to both life in space and on Earth, and that it becomes a global community of individuals excited about collaborating to advance the frontiers of space science and technology.
NASA International Space Apps Challenge is a one of its kind event hosted by NASA, a gateway for students aspiring to be the future leaders in Coding, Space science, Design and Sustainability. NASA is hosting an International Space Apps Challenge where we welcome the problem solvers and innovators of all ages and from different backgrounds, to solve the challenges. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of our global community’s health and safety, this year’s hackathon will be an all-virtual event.

Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore is joining with the NASA Space Apps Challenge to host the Virtual Hackathon from October 2-4th! Dayananda Sagar University has been hosting the event in Karnataka for the past two years and is privileged to be the host for this year's virtual challenge. We are looking forward to host both mentors and students participating in the event from across the country. The Final Hackathon is going to be conducted on 2nd-4th October 2020.
DSU is glad to organize this International hackathon virtually in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of our global community’s health and safety, NASA and the Space Apps Global Organizing Team have made the difficult decision to make the 2020 hackathon an all-virtual event.
This year's theme is "Take Action," is a critical reminder that you can make a difference, even from the comfort and safety of home.
We hope Space Apps Challenge will excite all the aspirants and make the journey really awesome.

How can I register /participate?
Just click on the registration button at the top right of this page as well as fill up. Though there is no mandatory requirement to form a team we recommend you to form the one for you having members with varied skill-sets (depends on the challenge you pick up). This will only help you to innovate better and without much overload. After all, bringing together very diverse skills and talents is often a key to breakthrough innovation!

Points to Note
- This is open to all age groups. Right from school children to UG/PG students to Working Professionals and beyond!.
- The teams will be supported by mentors who are experts in various relevant fields.
- We encourage diverse teams to bring out best in you!
- Typical Space Apps teams have 2-6 participants (the limit is 6 members per team). Space Apps Challenge is all about collaboration.
- This years challenge is all virtual, it does not matter from where you participate.
