Join us, for the first time ever, in participating in the NASA Space Apps Challenge! We're excited to be hosting the event and can't wait to see what innovative ideas come from it.. This event will be co-hosted with the McMaster Planetary Society, a group led by space enthusiastic students focused on encouraging students to explore space opportunities and development.
When is this event?
The NASA Space Apps Challenge will take place over the weekend of October 2nd to October 4th.
How Do I Join?
This year, the event will be hosted completely online! Due to this reason, we are using the platform Discord to host our event. Please join our discord channel with the link provided to you upon registration.
What types of challenges are there?
There are two organizations delivering challenges: The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and NASA. In order to participate in the NASA challenges, you must register your group on this page. To participate in the CSA challenges, you must register your team on this page as well as fill out an additional google form.

Do I Need a Team to Participate?
If you don't have a team ready or need some extra people, there are opportunities in the discord channel to meet other people participating at the event. We will be able to help you look for a team or members!
Do I Need Anything to Participate?
Make sure you have the following in order to have an enjoyable time at the event:
- A laptop or computer
- Good wifi connection
- Discord (web or app)
- A way to communicate with your team
- Any food, snacks, music, or fun things to keep you going through this event!
I have no experience coding or any engineering related background, can I still participate?
Absolutely! The NASA Space Apps Challenge is an all inclusive event for artists, story tellers, coders, engineers, etc! Anyone can participate in the event.
Is there help available during and before the event?
Yes! There will be mentors during the duration of the event to help answer questions and provide guidance. NASA will also be providing Virtual Boot camps a week prior to the Space Apps weekend, so make sure you tune in!
