Now in its 9th year, NASA Space Apps is an international hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, entrepreneurs, and others in cities around the world, where teams engage with the NASA’s free and open data to creatively address real-world problems on Earth and in space. 2019 Space Apps included over 29,000 participants at 225 events in 71 countries. Space Apps is a NASA-led global initiative and the largest hackathon organized in collaboration with universities, schools, and industries.

2020 NASA International Space Apps Challenge will be coming to you on October 2-4, 2020 in a virtual setting. The theme for this year’s Space Apps event is “Taking Action”, a critical reminder that, even from the comfort and safety of home, we can make a difference.

The North America-Great Huntsville Regional event will be hosted at Huntsville, AL--the Nation's famous "Rocket City", home of NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and numerous world-leading aerospace and high tech industries.

Alabama A&M University is proud to be the local host this year.
