SPACE APPS CHALLENGE 2020

SkyWatch is proud to announce the return of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge to the Waterloo region, from October 2 - 4, 2020, taking place virtually this year due to the pandemic. This year’s hackathon will attract 200+ of Waterloo’s top tech talent – developers, makers, citizen scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs – who will work non-stop for 48 hours to address challenges designed by NASA and the Canadian Space Agency.

Waterloo joins nearly 225 other cities hosting their own Space Apps Challenges that weekend, for an estimated total of 29,000 global participants, making it the largest hackathon in the universe. Winners of the CSA-challenges will go on to compete at the national level while an additional two winning solutions from the Waterloo challenge will move on to be judged at NASA headquarters for the global prize.
