Hello, Space Apps community!

For first time, the NASA Space Apps Challenge arrives at NEWPORT!!

NASA Space Apps Challenge 2020 is a global virtual hackathon for programmers, scientists, engineers, storytellers, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts around the world to use NASA's open data to solve NASA-designed Challenges (challenge categories).

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  1. Register now for free for the Space Apps NEWPORT Event by selecting the "Register" button on the right side of the page.
  2. Recruit friends & co-workers: We encourage you to invite your friends along! Typical Space Apps teams have 2-6 participants (the limit is 6 members per team). Space Apps is all about collaboration and the most successful teams are often ones with a diverse set of skills and expertise: coding, storytelling, creativity, data, science, engineering, technology, and more.
  3. Solo participants are welcome: if you do not have a predefined team do not worry, individuals are welcome and you will have your opportunity on the first day of the event (2nd Sept) to find your team´s partners.
  4. Familiarize yourself with the Space Apps Resources. Start with the Participant FAQ .

SUPPORT

During the event you will not be alone. B2Space as the event organizers and collaborators will be available to lend help and answer questions from the beginning of the event, on Friday, until Sunday. Scientific and Tech mentors will also be on-line to provide attendees with live feedback for their ideas and proposals.

Additionally, a set of awareness session has been planned to guide you in the best manner to develop your idea into a great project.

We will count with the support of mentors from UK Space Agency, Welsh Government, Airbus Defence & Space, B2Space and See Science STEM Ambassador Hub.

The two winning teams of the Space Apps NEWPORT event will receive a machined trophy sponsored by Burmetal, a prototyping support sponsored by all the partners and be chosen to enter the global competition., where NASA judges will determine the best solutions worldwide for the proposed challenges.

Thank you! We’re looking forward to a fun-filled Space Apps weekend!
