NASA Space Apps Challenge lands in Turin in 2020!
For the 5th time, I3P - Incubator of Innovative Companies of Politecnico di Torino will be the host of a local Space Apps' event! In light of covid19, the 2020 edition will be an all-virtual hackathon which will take place in the same weekend worldwide.
Join the competition and work on your project, prototype, idea to respond to Space Apps' challenges – and stay tuned because soon they will be published!
Who can participate?
Everyone can take part in the competition, because every skill is useful in order to work on a project. Register to Space Apps if you are a space enthusiast, if you re an engineer (or you're studying in order to become one), if you have communication or marketing skills (you will have to convince the judges your idea is cool!) or if you're looking for a chance to test yourself.
Join Turin event if you live in Turin, or in Turin area, and this is the nearest local event you can find available (check the map to be sure of that).
How can you join the competition?
Register to the event by signing up to the Space Apps platform, check your email to activate your account, and then selecting "Turin". Register as an individual, then you will have the chance to form your team, if you already have one you can add your teammates to your team. We suggest you to create teams with 3 to 5 people (the limit however is 6) and with different skills in order to work on your project taking into account all the different aspects of it.
If you don't have a team already: don't worry! We will help you and make sure you can find someone as passionate as you on the challenge you want your project to respond to.
How does it work?
As the event will be an all-virtual hackathon, there will be plenary sessions (held in English), projects' hours (so you and your team can work on your idea in response to the challenge you will have previously selected), consultancy hours (during which tutors and mentors will help you find a way to present your project and resolve issues) and a final Pitch Session.
You will get access to resources in order to work on your project and support from tutors and mentors who will be available to answer your questions and doubts. Also, chat rooms will be open one week before the hackathon starts.
Check the schedule to know how the hackathon will take place.
When will Space Apps take place?
Space Apps will start on 3rd October at 9 AM and will end on October 4th.
On October 1st there will be an online event to introduce this new edition and welcome all participants to Space Apps Challenge.
Stay tuned because we will release further details soon!
