Virtual Planetary Exploration

Your challenge is to create interactive 3D models of equipment (e.g., planetary geology tools) that future space explorers can use for activities like exploring a planetary surface.

Summary

We are engaged in the creation of mechanical systems and instruments for astronauts who will explore other planets and the moon as well. Our jib solution for a hoisting machine is that we offer the modular system that you can be used for different purposes.The main purpose is a crane frame that can be used to move loads weighing up to 1oo kg in terms of the earth's gravity. Also, our structure is modular and can be used to build the frames of residential and non-residential compartments and structures. The weight of a 2 meter section does not exceed 16 kg. An astronaut can easily move such a structure.

How We Addressed This Challenge

We have created a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy modular construction.

We evaluated its technical parameters in the strength analysis system.

This system can move loads up to 100 kg with an outreach of 2200 mm. The main section can also be used as frame structures for residential units.


The crane is fully electric. We also plan to create a universal multitasking drive that can be easily converted into a drilling rig or cutting tool.

How We Developed This Project

Проект разрабатывался двумя инженерами. Нас вдохновили описание космических миссий Аполло которые мы нашли на сайте НАСА. Было интересно почитать и посмотреть фотографии. Основная наша идея это создание универсального и дешевого рабочего оборудования для космонавтов. Помимо стрелы которую мы представили хотим также представить универсальный рабочий инструмент дрель-пила-привод.
