Virtual Planetary Exploration

Your challenge is to create interactive 3D models of equipment (e.g., planetary geology tools) that future space explorers can use for activities like exploring a planetary surface.

Martian Rover VR

Summary

Explore Mars in VR without any expensive equipment

How We Addressed This Challenge

We have developed an VR game where you can drive a vehicle from the first person. So you can explore the surfaces of planets and explore them with an immersive effect. We hope this will attract more young minds to space exploration.

How We Developed This Project

We were inspired by the movie Martian, and we wanted everyone to feel like a space explorer.

To create this project, we used the Unity 3D, and a VR plugin.

To play you only need a cardboard and two devices to play, one for the the cardboard and the other for the controls. You can use as control any device: a tablet, a phone, and even an mp3 player!

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We used a landscape data and some 3d models from NASA official site for creating a 3d scene in our game.
