Kill the spill (ideathon)

Summary

Just one massive oil spill, the Exxon Valdez killed 2000 otters, 300 harbor seals and a quarter million seabirds. The cleaning also requires a huge amount of labor as well as cost. Despite that the toxicity still remains in the ocean due to poor cleaning activity followed by occasional oil spills due to ship leakage or other unfortunate accidents. Therefore we have found a solution for the early detection of oil spills in the ocean to prevent the loss of our marine animals as well as to preserve the ocean as it is. With our new Aqua cylinder focusing on early oil spills detection is now faster and much cheaper than existing technologies. The recovery process usually takes several years even

How We Addressed This Challenge

It helps saves the ocean, marine lives & helps in early oil leak detection unlike existing technologies that are not very time saving which causes oil spills to worsen. It works a very simple and efficient way of collecting water samples and filtering them out if there is any oil residue.

How We Developed This Project

We want to save the turtles!(and other marine lives) and our beautiful ocean for the future generation.

How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

The data we used is from the imaging of the oil spills recorded and datasets of oil spill incidents.
