iLu Earth has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
Just enter location, city or address and see the rainfall prediction in an easy human readable format; on a web interface.
Current weather solutions display lots of data and are filled with complexities. If a person just wants to monitor rainfall, she should be able to do just that. That's where our solution comes. A simple interface with the only information you want.
We hope that people with no technical knowledge can easily get insights from satellite data.
Our team is motivated to create solutions that can easily be used by people across domains. Instead of searching throughout the webpage to find a single piece of data, we believe, people should be able to get insight that they are looking for, in an easy to understandable format.
Some of the flowcharts produced during the Hackathon:

Initially, we planned to get data from NASA and apply algorithms to predict & monitor rainfall. Due to time constraint, we moved to OpenWeatherMap API to produce our solution. We used this API to get 5 day / 3 hour forecast and implemented on our webpage so that people can easily read it in a sentence. To search for places around the world and display map element, we used Google Places API. For website development, we used Bubble app.
