LEAD (Lipasallians Empowered towards Application Development)

Objectives

In response to DLSL’s strategic directions, one of the requirements is the CAPSTONE Initiatives; these aim to alleviate the status of communities by developing projects which adhere to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Background Information

The team has 5 members from three strands, who have created projects of their own. For STEM, the member proposed “STEAGO” which potentially lessens waste accumulation in the target locale; a machine that collects waste in sewers and inhibits its proliferation. As for ABM, they proposed “Melior Philippines,” a social enterprise which aims to lower the unemployment rate by hiring residents as manufacturers and lessening solid waste from the target community. Lastly, HUMSS representatives conceptualized programs, namely “HAPPY” and “We RISE to be REAL” which address issues on mental health and teenage pregnancy.

Sole Purpose

Overall, the team members are active in various social endeavors and integrate cognizance to create projects that would benefit communities.
