In recent years, human actions have had a major negative environmental impact worldwide: deforestation, pollution, overpopulation, CO2 emissions, in addition to exacerbated consumerism. If the population does not change its habits, we will be in great trouble in the future not so far from our present.
In this way, 4TW seeks to make people of all ages aware of how their actions can be changed and that they can positively affect the entire future of the planet, making the world sustainable for future generations. In addition to allowing users to access information about the biggest concerns we currently experience. Demonstrating at each act, the consequences that will occur, players will have the experience of being able to transform the reality of the planet, showing in a practical way how important each decision becomes in the real world.
How does the game work?
1. Realizing your reality:
• The character would find himself at the beginning of the game with the world totally devastated by human action and what caused all this destruction.
• After checking the consequences of human actions, the character will have the option of becoming a time traveler so that he can try to save the planet from reaching the end.
2. Going back to the past:
• In that sense, players will be able to go back to crucial years that represented the trigger for many of the sustainability disasters that plague humanity. Thus, players will be involved in various missions in which they will have to make sustainable decisions to change the reality of the year 3000. Thus, as they make decisions, it will be possible to notice the consequences that each choice caused on the planet, through information and projections of NASA's Global Climate Change, and other support sites.
3. Accumulating decisions
• With several decisions made, the traveler could return to the “current” moment, year 3000, to see how the changes have an impact on the future of the planet, checking how the consequences have had a positive impact this time.
4. Awareness
• The game leads the participant to understand the actions that take place on the planet and the wrong actions that we humans take every day, without even realizing it in everyday life. With the information passed during the game and the decisions it makes, you will be able to realize the changes that are possible to make in your real life so that you can help the future.
In the end, the player will have created a new world that is completely personalized and shaped by the decisions made throughout the game. And the game's morality revolves around making people realize in practice and through real data and projections, what happened, and is happening today with the planet and its natural resources due to human action. And also to realize that in the end everyone will pay for the consequences generated by these negligences and decisions. Thus, players will have the possibility to create a new world, but they will realize that although it is not perfect, it has the possibility to improve it and prevent the worst from happening.
To try to complete the challenge we thought about creating a form that would be interesting for all ages. In addition to thinking within the group, since our ages are different, we researched within our family to get opinions, we thought of a game that would be interesting for everyone who was going to play, in the same way that it would be easy to understand the message that we want to send to players how important each action is to the world.
We realized that even before the pandemic, people created an affection for small games on the cell phone, whether for the fun that it allows, or even to challenge the player's intelligence. Whether you spend time on the way to work, or how to have fun on a date with friends. With the quarantine we had the explosion of downloads of several games, which attracted the attention of even more people to this market.
Due to the wide range of options in addition to the various ways in which you can play, a game was the best option in which we saw being able to cover all our target audience, in addition to being a fun way and disseminating information that could save the future of the Earth.
Thus, when looking at NASA sites, which are allocated to Nasa Global Climate Change, we find that it is filled with various information, facts, articles, real changes in addition to the part reserved for children. After this observation, we saw how easy it could be to gather all this information, images and facts in a game in order to be educational for all ages. In addition to being able to show the various tools that were created by NASA for study and better visibility of various aspects of fauna and flora in the world.
All game information would come from DATA NASA. Due to the range of information that has been collected over the years, mainly about climate change, they have images, temperature records, in addition to articles and others. In this way, everything that would be shown to players would be based on the information provided by these sites. In this way, key years would be selected to be included in the game, taking into account historical data, and information about the main changes that have occurred, which in a way are extremely negatively impacting.
4TW is a game that transforms players into time travelers, where each player creates their own avatar and aims to make decisions that will change the course of the history of humanity and the planet, in order to improve it, and avoid the disastrous future experienced by avatars.
The game begins in the year 3000, the beginning of a new millennium, which is already bound to be disastrous. The scenario is the worst imaginable, the planet and its natural resources have come to an end, and the state is irreversible, at least for changes that year. The only chance to change the scenario would be to travel in time, and change the course of history.
In that sense, players will be able to return to crucial years that represented the trigger for many of the sustainability disasters that plague humanity. Thus, players will be involved in various missions in which they will have to make sustainable decisions to change the reality of the year 3000. Thus, as they make decisions, it will be possible to notice the consequences that each choice caused on the planet, through information and projections of NASA's Global Climate Change, and other support sites.
