Today in Mexico our ecosystems are at alarming risk due to people's ignorance, lack of motivation and abuse of companies with ecosystems; that's why on our page we want more than to inform, we want to educate people, show them that taking care of the planet is beneficial for all of us, and motivate them to do things for it, because there are a lot of cheap or free actions we can take to help. Our page has different audience reaches, it has a section for children and young people - adults with a dynamic and understandable understanding. Also, we want all people to feel that they're part of this great movement, in order to do that, there are people who would be volunteers and their job will be to spread the word to those who don't have the source to get the information through internet. In addition, to sustain volunteers' expenses we would get money from donations and sponsors. Our website offers local solutions and contributions to reduce pollution and destruction of our ecosystems, for examples, recycling centers, not only for bottles and cans, but for books and a lot more things people don't know that could be recycled. We also put data on how to generate money, recycle and how people have given their lives to defend our nature.
We were inspired to be able to contribute through technology to the awareness and action of current ecological problems and how to solve them. Video editing softwares (Filmora) were used for the realization of the gifs, wix website to create our own website. Some of the first difficulties we had was when we wanted to use google maps; Since the code was fine but it had a watermark, another difficulty we had was when we wanted to implement NASA's WorldWideWeb but it could not be because our browsers did not match to be able to implement it.
The resources available through the NASA space data agency have been used as a visual complement for the webpage that has been designed. Through this resources, the webpage shows high quality satellite pictures as well as a variety of trustworthy graphs and charts. These permit a better appreciation of the way our planet has changed throughout the course of time. Apart from that, the use of real time updating maps, which are available through the database, allow the webpage to illustrate the regions where climate change is affecting life, in manners such as deforestation and the ice sheets melting.
