Environmental issues are the day to day hazards which has harmful effects to Earth and its natural systems due human actions. Although there are several natural causes like climatic change, pollution, forest fires, human behavior has led to an increase in greenhouse emissions. While climate change is discussed frequently now, it has been occurring since the Industrial Revolution .Climate change affects everyone and the ramifications are visible by the variation in temperatures and an increase of intense natural disasters. It contributes to even broader problems like rising sea levels and loss of biodiversity in our food systems. The negative impacts are likely to affect those who are already the most vulnerable. An additional concern is pollution and its influence on public health. Research shows that black carbon is making dangerous bacteria harder to kill and resistant to antibiotics. Moreover, black carbon increases risks of heart attacks, strokes and even lung cancer. NASA satellites are observing where Earth’s water is found--and how that is changing over time. The vast amount of untested chemicals released into the air and found in our foods and household items endanger general public welfare. One study tested children for the presence of lead, methylmercury and polychlorinated biphenyls and found traces in over 89 percent of the subjects. As the future of society, people need a safe and healthy start to life. An application through which people can make awareness among their their society people about the hazards and to help save Earth.
The improper disposal of biodegradable substances in streams became a cause of concern.
The receiving waters were quickly polluted. Fish in the receiving waters died and the water had a very offensive odor. A stream must therefore be protected, so that it can serve the best interest of people using it. To help people and address the hazards due to pollution, we have developed an awareness application where every individual has access to their surrounding conditions. The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission is an international network of satellites that provide next-generation global observations of rain and snow.Through improved measurements of precipitation globally, the GPM mission is helping to advance our understanding of Earth's water and energy cycles, improve forecasting of extreme events that cause natural hazards and disasters, and extend current capabilities in using accurate and timely information of precipitation to directly benefit society. GPM, initiated by NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) as a global successor to TRMM, comprises a consortium of international space agencies, including the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
NASA Earth science data were very useful for a wide range of GIS research and applications in the areas of climate, atmosphere, hydrology, weather, and agriculture. GIS software is designed to capture, manage, analyze, and visualize all forms of geographically referenced information. It reveals relationships, patterns, and trends in the data and integrates with other visualization platforms and non-scientific data formats. GIS can also be configured to make data more easily discoverable, accessible and usable via web data services, and provides the ability to quickly deploy powerful raster and vector analytical capabilities via maps and applications. The datas were easily accessible which was provided in the website and other references as well.
