Summary
The world faces a lot of grand challenges. We will focus on environmental issues. A report by the United Nations Environment Program stated that about 8 million tons of plastic materials are dumped into the oceans every year. The environmental damage from plastic waste is estimated at $ 6. 25 billion by 2030. In some places in the world, waste is very common, including plastic so, first we will make awareness raising video for people and some videos to explain our idea, which is that we will create a place for waste collection and we will divide it into several plots of land and collect each type of waste separately in it and contract with factories to buy these waste after collecting it
How We Addressed This Challenge
We developed a method that affects people’s bad behavior and turns it into a good one by spreading awareness. our main aim is to establish the culture of saving the environment in children minds. We attend to teach them how the environmental issues like air pollution, waste management, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, etc. affect the world, therefore, our future, and how does a small behavior they can do can prevent these problems from happening. They should learn how to recycle, save energy and water and plant trees. That is our main aim to educate the children to save the environment. Then, our second aim is to make the rest of the people more aware of the environment through social media and advertising. We will initiate a campaign from our society and encourage the people to join us and help in their society. We will put recycling bins and posters in the streets, and we will plant trees. We will categorize the wastes and give each one of them to a recycling factory to solve the plastic and garbage problem. It is very important to maintain our planet health. This method makes people save the environment and teach them that small behavior can affect the whole planet. This method makes a lot of people work to save the environment but there will be some people who still don’t care about environmental health. We started with the kids because when people see the kids save the environment they will be ashamed of themselves and help to save the environment. We are working on making a Facebook page for spread environmental awareness between people, market to our campaign and our mission and to encourage the people to join our campaign. How We Developed This Project
Environmental issues are in increasing every period ranging from climate change to microplastics in the oceans etc... the human activities is the main cause for these issues due to unawareness or blindness or interests like manufacturing. So, reminding people with their responsibilities and motivate their sedulity and aware them to the drawbacks of their behavior is a big challenge that should be taken into account and solved in a creative way. Scientists think that a gap may happen between generations so, a creative way that is easy and understandable to all ages needed to be launched as quick as possible. Our approach is inspired from truth believing in endanger issues that threat our home planet. Accordingly, we took all ages into account by making simple video with simple words to ease comprehension and promote feeling responsible to them and apply their thoughts from our judging video to the ground. We used fully complete programs and already prepared platforms to complete our idea. The only problem we face is the community support and financial aids from responsible establishments to promote youth and anyone who can serve for his planet continuity and coming generations.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
As we all face the covid-19 pandemic , people finally get used to make full use of internet in a good way .Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the EarthDay that NASA will host virtually , we decided to make a virtual awareness through out videos and sessions hosted on social media to awake people of the damage caused by throwing plastic in seas and rivers
