One mobile application and smart recycling bin have designed. This smart recycling bin will locate places with high human density (like shopping malls, supermarkets, schools etc.). And our device will encourage all generations. This smart recycling bin will recognize and classify objects in itself. It gives points to the person according to the number and type of waste he/she throws. Then the person will be able to use these points at contracted places. Using gamification to ensure sustainability, people are more aimed to recycle waste. We want to whole generation to contribute the recycling. We hope that a green world always exists. Our aim is, to encourange people to recycle, all over the world and especially in our country.
As a team, we focused on environmental sustainability. We have to consume less. That is true but when we consume something we have to recycle them. In our country (Turkey) and also in all around the world, people is trying to recycle but this is not enough. Low recycling ratio's in the world inspired us. With our project we want to effect all generations to recycle. We want to include all types of people to our project. We are trying to encourage the people with prizes, sweet competition and gamification stage. This application will be created using Flutter framework. The smart recycling bin contains Raspberry Pi mini computer card. The smart recycling bin will recycle with GUI (graphical user interface) which is developed with the Python programming language.
We read how people makes trash from the "Recycle This!" activity and its information text. These informations inspired us. Also "Taking out our trash" article by Laura Faye Tenenbaum inspired us. "Waste not, want not" article informed us about recycling and using energy. With "Recycling Program Educator" we informed a lot (recycling can effect global warming and making and saving energy).
