EMIcatronic has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
Combining everyone's efforts will lead to a revolutionnary impact . We face great challenges in today's world, including pollution and the emission of toxic gases like CO2. Failure to understand our planet's ecosystem works and evolves will inevitably change the future not only in the way our system works but, ultimately, in the way it evolves.
Our solution is to develop a website that uses the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere to show people the situation of our planet and encourage them to take actions.
What makes our project special is sensitizing people and showing the impact of planting trees in the future. It also treats another point which is simplifying data.
We hope we can translate a sense of acting and being part of changes that we dream about, we want to give everyone the chance to prove he can make a difference.
We have chosen this challenge for two main reasons:
First, the environment is our home, so it's our duty to make it a better place.
Second, we'll be proposing a long-term solution, since its impact lasts forever. Hence, by saying 'saving environment for our good' we target the future generations as well.
Simplicity is the secret to success; this is the case for our project. We have opted for a simple and effective solution. Both responds to the challenge we have chosen and available for everyone.
Due to these reasons, we created AcTree, to combine the important objectives of the challenge and make a simple idea come true.
Our website's programming is based on python, javascript, css, html with specific types of data like json and geo json in addition to using some tools which are pycharm, node and mapbox.
The data shared by NASA were used to show the concentration of CO2 in each country yet in the whole world. Moreover, we used the given data to show the death rate caused by the pollution. And that is declared on our website as a graph and on the map as well.
By that, we were able to achieve our ultimate goal of simplifying this data to raise awareness and inspire people to take action.
