We developed three simple and effective solutions to communicate current solutions; putting a heavier emphasis on sustainability in elementary school curriculums, have major telecommunication companies participate in environmental awareness weeks similar to 'Bell Let's Talk' and making television shows /online games to teach sustainability in an interactive way.
These are important because it teaches the younger generation how to adjust their day-to-day actions in order to take care of the planet. Additionally, the results of this education can lessen the effect of the Prisoner's dilemma- if all the world's future policy makers decide to take action to save the Earth, we would be able to mitigate our current problems.
We hope to make an impact on our proceeding generation to take responsibility from when they are young.
We chose this challenge because we do not believe that there will be any substitute for Earth. Our approach to developing this project was deciding on the most effective ways to communicate already know small solutions, that can negate climate change to young children. We used a simple PowerPoint to show possibly ways to communicate problems and solutions associated with climate change.
Climate change data from NASA was used namely carbon dioxide concentration and global temperature readings. The significant increase of carbon dioxide concentration and global temperature worried us because these have significant impacts on the planet and therefore on our livelihoods.
