Greenbook has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
With Greenbook we want to create a network of people interested in caring for the environment.
We know that it is not an easy task but we also know that working together with other people we will promote the good habits that our planet Earth needs.
It is for this reason that we will provide the necessary tools for a personal evolution in knowledge and sustainable actions, but we will also provide tools to advance socially, informing about current affairs and motivating them to act together in an effective and pleasant way.
A meaningful aspect is that with Greenbook we not only create links between users but we are also collaborating with small entrepreneurs, giving them the possibility of a greater market reach so that they can offer their products to more people who will contribute with them and with the planet in a direct way.
We seek to improve the quality of life of the generations that today walk on the Earth, and guarantee the best possible quality of life for the generations to come.
Let's make Earth a better place than it was when we arrived
Greenbook App uses:
•Profile:
Here we find information about the user, which is divided into:
- Data: We find the user's personal information, full name, location, followers, etc.
- Achievements:We can see the progress of the user meanwhile it has been using the app and we find its current level, plan in execution and its badges obtained.
•My Footprint:
In this section the user gives the necessary information to be able to calculate its carbon footprint and then, it is provided with tools to reduce the footprint through action plans.
How does the user do it?
The user fills out a form with a series of questions related to certain chosen topics (Water, Electricity, Transport, Waste and Food), according to its daily activities and products that the user consumes. At the end, an approximate amount of the pollution produced by the user is informed by the calculator which is incorporated into the app. Plans already programmed are proposed to the user so that it can freely choose where to start acting, knowing that each completed plan will provide information on the change achieved in relation to its contamination and motivating it to choose new plans.
•Social:
This section seeks to be a link between Greenbook users. Here users can find different tutorials and environmental news, technological advances, and other topics of interest related to ecology and the environment. It also allows to know environmental events created by different users and participate in them, as well as users are allowed to create their own events and invite others to participate. It is intended to meet volunteers to carry out activities to reduce pollution and work together. Designers and participants of the events get points to be changed in the App Store.
•Friends:
In this section the user will be able to add registered users as a friend so that the evolution of each one can be observed, showing the levels obtained, the events in which they took part, publications which were made, sustainable products which were acquired, etc. This section also allows the user to interact with its friends, therefore the app offers the possibility of chatting among them.
•App Store:
In this section, if the users wish, they can publish the sustainable products of their ventures, incorporate images, description and price of them, so that those who are interested can purchase them. The purchase of any product gives the consumer a sum of points, which in the future will become discount coupons for any product in the store.

Caring for our planet is part of one of our greatest challenges as human beings. Our daily actions and decisions have a direct impact on future generations; This is why environmental responsibility corresponds to all of us regardless of age.
Quick climate change reveals the following problems:
1) The average temperature of the surface of the planet has risen by about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit since the end of the 19th century, a change driven in large part by increases in carbon dioxide and other anthropogenic emissions to the atmosphere. Most of the warming occurred in the past 35 years, and the six warmest years which have been recorded, they have never all occurred after 2014. Not only 2016 was the warmest year on record, but eight of the 12 months of that year were the hottest on record for those months. Also, this is a trend that repeats itself year after year.
2) Today's food supply chain creates 13.7 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2 eq), 26% of anthropogenic GHG emissions. Another 2.8 billion metric tons of CO2 eq (5%) are caused by non-food agriculture and other causes of deforestation.
3) The WHO estimates that more than 7 million deaths worldwide can be attributed to air pollution each year. Climate change also causes tens of thousands of deaths annually from other causes. Extreme weather events break records time and time again, with consequent loss of human life and livelihoods. Cities consume 78% of the world's energy and produce more than 60% of greenhouse gas emissions.
4) On average, 200 plastic bags are used per person per year and they take around 400 years to degrade. A study by the Journal of Cleaner Production finds that the entire life cycle of a 1 kg plastic tray generates 1,538 kg of CO2 in emissions. The raw material manufacturing phase of plastic production contributes the majority of its carbon footprint.
5) Fossil fuel vehicles are one of the main sources of air pollution. They emit more than half of the nitrogen oxides in our air, and are one of the largest transmitters of gases associated with global warming in the United States.

By looking at the clear statistics from NASA we were able to determine that we need to act now, otherwise we will reach a point of no return, where stopping climate change will be out of reach. The consequences of climate change and pollution are not something of the future, we are currently seeing an increase in extreme climate events, rising sea levels, imminent loss of arctic ice and more; it is a reality that affects us all today. This is why it is important not only to know the pollution at a global level, but also, the influence at a personal level which allows to raise awareness and make a direct and more effective change.
