Mission-River

Summary

Our earth is covered 71% by water out of which only 0.3 % is usable for domestic and industrial purposes.Billions of people living in sub Saharan Africa, South Asia and Latin America are exposed to water borne diseases due to marine litter. Our idea consist of an web that will help industries, authorities and communities to identify the hazardous chemicals ,all other elements , its possible source and remedy.1) First part of this project is an web (through url) which will be used to see data about heavy metals, minerals and other trace elements from the sample water of River.2) Second part of this project will show the data to the user which can be used for further analysis.

How We Addressed This Challenge
  1. Our idea consist of an web to provide user-friendly data. In the first part of web we develope a web that will help user to see data about heavy metals, minerals and other elements from sample water of river. In second part of project we will show data to to the user which will used for further analysis.
  2. Our earth has only 0.3% of drinkable water which is also affected by marine litter and harmful chemicals which causes many problems to humans and marine life.
  3. It shows about the water body ,all the elements present in river, so users and authorities can get idea of quality of water. It is seen that when people came to know about the affected place and its reasons they care about that and take actions. So our idea will show the realtime data to people and its possible causes and its effects so that they can take actions.
  4. Our idea has two parts. First part shows data to the user of the particular part which he wants to see, the second part helps user to analyse data giving base values, solutions to improve quality of water and uses of sample water user has.
  5. This idea will help user to analyze the qualty of water from one source as data is the new fuel.This daat can also be used by industries to check quality of water before using it for manufacturing process. Aurthority can also use this data to understand the quality of water in thier area and formulate the solution which can help the community.
How We Developed This Project
  1. Water is the basic need for everyone. And all people have equal right for drinkable water. But only 0.3% of total water present on earth is drinkable, which is also affected by human activities, people spread marine litter and forget about water quality and blame others for the problems. The garbage dumped by them, come to them in return directly or indirctely.The marine litter affect humans as well as marine life , so when people can came to know about the root cause which is actually them , so they can take actions.
  2. We used real time data to show user and provided a paltform to analyze data , also providing solution and geographical map for authorities to analyze the possible cause for the pollution of particular area.
  3. We used Javascript , python ,html ,css , bootstrap ,Jquery and related apis for coding of program, Nasa earth website to analyze the possible cause of litter in particular area , India wris website for real time water quality data , github to develop our project.
  4. Poblems faced was in fetching real-time data of water quality and analyzing it weith the base values, we achieved it by redirections and showing it up to user on screen.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project

We have used NASA Earth data to analyze geolocations of the particular water quality checking stations and analysing possible causes like (which industries output water dumped in river) or any other source of garbage.
