We have chosen to use scratch to develop our simulation through the perspective of an animal because we think that it is more interactive and will spread the message of ‘sustaining the planet for future generations’ more effectively. By using a penguin, the audience is able to see the difficulties that itself faces due to climate change - where its natural habitat has been destroyed due to global warming and can no longer stand and rest and dies from tiredness.
We strive to raise awareness on climate change and bring solutions to improve our planet earth for our next generations to enjoy the beautiful world and fascinating biodiversity in the future. To achieve this ideal goal we use testing methods so the audience challenges themselves to answer the right questions and pay attention to the information at the start.
We think that addressing this issue is important and through playing a game, people might learn to engage more instead of reading or listening to lectures. Our game provides little facts at a time, therefore the audience can absorb that information and remember it precisely. Many people blow past the idea that we are tearing down our earth and its environment rapidly and that it is important that we sustain habitats for future generations and other living species.
Our game puts the audience through a series of questions mimicking the hardships that animals face. By choosing the correct answer, it prolongs the duration of the life of the penguin however if the wrong answer is imputed, Eddie the penguin's life will be in jeopardy. Before each of the questions there will be background information to provide insight to the audience. This expands their knowledge on sustainability. This game should be suitable for all ages and provides an educational opportunity for people. The penguin guides the audience through the questions and it is pretty self-explanatory. We have more specific instructions on the slides attached below in case there is some misunderstanding. We wish the the human race would think twice before acting carelessly so our planet sees a better future. Our team sincerely hopes that you will learn more about sustaining our planet for future generations and enjoy our simulation through the life of Eddie the penguin!

We used an online programming tool called Scratch and although it is a simpler more straightforward type of programming, we thought it would be more accessible to a wider audience. Our game is easily available either through the link attached or online. The solution to this problem isn’t rather materialised as we believe that encouraging the audience to solve and to provide their own solution is more important. Through the 48-hour process we had difficulties and challenges. Communication was a main one as we primarily communicated through technology. Time management was also a key element to the success of our project. Collaboration was rather important but one of the easier aspects of this project.
We provided facts and information from the NASA website and (https://climate.nasa.gov/solutions/adaptation-mitigation/ ) to better inform the audience. We have some questions that are based on the research from this website and hope the audience finds them interesting.
