We come out with several ways to raise awareness among all generations, including using social media to reach many people. It is important to remind everyone about the current issues and ways of sustainability. We alter our content according to the target audience depending on the medium we use (e.g : using memes for Instagram/Twitter, informative posts on Facebook). As teenagers ourselves, we have a good insight on what the younger generations are interested in. We aim on creating a trending TikTok revolving on climate action where it'll spark an interest among the youth to follow suit. We will be focusing on more future projects, right after we get a tight grip of everything. Through this project, we hope that the damage could be undone, slowly by raising awareness in citizens of Malaysia.
Engagement with the audience is important to keep interest and drive change among us. With this, contests (caption, photo, drawing, TikTok videos, etc.) will be held too. We are planning online and physical contests for students to engage and participate in. Designing merch is also one of our plan, we will donate percentage of the profit to charities that support sustainibility movement.
Recent unfortunate events inspired us to choose this challenge. As we are teenagers, we'd like to take up on a challenge that is plausible. Our main approach is active interactions between audience and us. We used social medias, and planning to learn coding and make an interactive app. For now, Wix is used as our website platform, though we plan to purchase a domain after we have support from a sponsor.
The main problems my team faced was from time-constraints due to the strict schedule of our institution — overcoming this problem was difficult, but it meant that we had to get creative through persuading, and writing proposals to the institution's administrators. Every meet-up we had was exciting as we had an amazing agenda; connecting with each other for a greater cause, a project with the potential to change the world.
We use space agency data to tailor our information that we share and we use it to determine our project's focus and subdivisions.
