The environmental issues that we face today will have consequences for the next generations, so it is extremely important for people to have more initiative about their responsibilities towards the environment. We are faced with the increase in global warming, deforestation, fires and pollution, all over the world in recent decades, where these problems are often not treated with due importance. The acceleration of these phenomena is something very harmful to the environment, and can even modify it permanently. For this reason, bearing in mind the transformative power that education has, our ProNERD green group believes that a system inspired by the “Proerd” that is already developed in more than 58 countries, would help to combat degradation. Proerd is a program that originated in the United States, whose purpose is to prevent drug use and violence. Progreen aims to emphasize the prevention of existing problems, but in an environmental way, bringing information about the composition of our environment, how we should act to take care of it, what we must do to avoid negative and permanent changes on it, where find truthful data in relation to what is happening, get to know institutions and projects that help in this, and bring sustainable curiosities to students. It will be taught by biologists or geographers who are pedagogically trained, and the target in schools would be students in the 6th grade of elementary school. But why offer this program to children of the sixth year? We know that children have a great facility to absorb information at all times, and in this age group it is common for students to begin to become aware of issues that involve society, and to form concepts in the face of what is offered to them. According to Jean Piaget, a Swiss psychologist and biologist who developed the Piaget Theory, from the age of 10 people develop the ability to critically evaluate the rules and apply them based on cooperation and respect for others, in addition to starting to understand more about reciprocity. The values acquired during the growth process guide us for the rest of our lives. Another issue is the dependence of children, which causes the involvement of parents in their learning and chores, which will cause our idea to expand more and more, also involving an older audience. In addition to the schools, to reach the population as a whole even more, Progreen will also give lectures on industries and events, where it will talk to adults about environmental events, the dangers that may occur if we do not preserve it, the ways preservation and care, in addition to sustainable ways of living. The Progreen project could be partnered with the Municipal Education Departments and NGOs, which would contribute to the training, funding and sending of teachers and speakers, using as a basis the idea of our program and the application provided. One of the support materials for the understanding and even the practice of what was learned by the classes or lecture, will be our Progreen application, which will function as an educational, informative and data control support, which can be used by students, by parents, spectators of the lectures and whoever else! There will be 5 tabs: Curiosities, Games, Action, Monitoring and News.
The “Curiosities” tab will be divided into two parts: NASA and ENVIRONMENT. It will be responsible for an educational space, which will bring educational and creative information for the user to learn and practice. NASA Space: You can find general curiosities about NASA. ENVIRONMENT Space: Sustainable curiosities such as the policy of the 3Rs, and curiosities of the environment as a whole can be found.
The “Games” tab will be responsible for the fun both inside and outside, both alone and with friends. There are three game options that the user can enjoy, in addition to having the possibility to log in with Facebook to always keep an eye on his ranking in relation to colleagues. Quizz: where you can compete with your friends to see who answers the most questions correctly, or even play alone and test your knowledge. Ecomon green: where you will have to go hunting for ecomons, allowing you to discover new environments in your region. Challenges: where you will have to carry out sustainable activities for a certain period, and to send you only need to take a picture of your achievement. The more you play the more points you will accumulate, consequently you will level up and rank, enabling improvements in the application.
The "Action" tab will be responsible for data collection, where the user can add "Nature data" to inform what was found positive, or "Degradation data", in which to report what was found negative. Example: The user was taking a walk with his family and ended up finding a beautiful lake, when he finds it he informs the Progreen application in “Data of nature” about the good action found, and sends a photo. Thus, by using GPS, the application will find the positive action.
By doing this, the user will contribute to the improvement of the “Monitoring” tab, where you can search the map of any city, which will have information about air pollution in this region and the stage it is in: green (positive environment) , yellow (balanced environment) and red (negative environment). It will also have a caption that informs about what is in that region, such as: forests, waters (lakes, rivers and seas), burning points, industries and places for selective collection and disposal of electronic waste.
In the “News” tab, the user will be able to know the latest news about the environment, both in their country (what is happening with our biomes, information about how politics and NGOs are fighting and ideas) and globally (where we would find the main news involving the Environment around the world), in addition to the latest news about NASA (about its discoveries, achievements and events).
The Progreen application will contribute to NASA by providing in an easier and more real way (since it is constantly being closely fed by the population itself) data on the different regions of the world. The application, in addition to all this availability, will bring the awareness that the Environment is in each part, always close to us, that preservation and care is a duty to guarantee a better future.
News:

As already mentioned, the program was inspired by PROERD, and using the same essence of talking directly with people who may in the future be sharing good deeds. For now our project was only on paper, where using the usual tools (Hardware and software) we built the idea and outlined how our application will be. The next step in the project is to build it. In addition to learning how an application works, we realized that it is possible to act punctually in problems and help improve the environment in which we live and thereby ensure something better for everyone.
We use the data from the space agency as a reliable research source.
