Summary
Our solution is making an animated video that aims to show how small acts can cause big problems therefore, increasing the awareness of the individuals through highlighting a real-life problem that threatened people’s life: In the late 1990s, a virus called the “Nipah virus”, a zoonosis broke out in South and South-western Asia and after a lot of investigations fruit bats were found to be the responsible ones. These bats reside in forests where they feed on fruits. But when humans interfered with their environment and started deforestation, bats had to find an alternative. So, they started to search for food in human farms, and thus the virus was transmitted to humans.
How We Addressed This Challenge
Our project is mainly a short-animated video that acts as an alarm to the awareness of many people especially those who feel that their role in saving the environment is almost negligible. Therefore, they give no concern to the importance of being a part of the solution and contributing to save the environment. The source of development in our project is adopting new methods to raise awareness among the people and inform through animations that are widely known nowadays as they play a great role to help people from all age groups start doing something or stopping them from doing other things. We hope that our video reaches a wide audience and be effective in raising awareness among people and help them understand their duty towards our planet. Moreover, we hope they realise the importance of thinking twice and thrice before doing any act even if it is small.
How We Developed This Project
It is no mere chance that we decided especially to deal with this challenge. But infact it was a deep motivation coming from our feeling that we are a part of the solution. This feeling urged us to contribute to saving our home planet, the Earth. We thought that the best way to make the information reach easily to a wide audience from different age groups is through animation as it is widely known nowadays as one of the best ways to make people interested in doing something or even stop them from doing other things. To design our video, we depended on a Website called "VYond".The most challenging problem that we faced while working on our project was finding the suitable Website that could help us in making our video as we want it to be. In order to face this challenge, we started searching for different websites that could help us achieve our target. Although, it was not very easy we finally found "VYond" and felt that it is the most suitable tool to use. We achieved many other things such as the information we gained during the research phase and also our brainstorming was really fruitful.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We found that the space agency data of NASA and all the other resources provided along with the challenge very useful. We watched the videos posted on NASA's Website and found by the information provided there very benificial. We also gained a good experience from the videos which helped us in making our video. Moreover, it also helped us to know more about NASA.
