This challenge asks us to find ways to communicate the importance of sustaining the planet for future generations. And we believe that, to make a sustainable planet a reality, we need to address the youngest audiences. If we give them the idea and changed their mindsets at the earliest stages, it would be much easier to develop environment-friendly and responsible global citizens for the future. Our website, the Global Coolers give children the 'core idea' of what is global warming, how does it happen and what you can do to stop it as children. Then, it asks the kids to explore the ie by themselves, giving a place to their curiosity. To make our website kid-friendly, we have used a simple mascot named Miss. Janet, the tree-fairy. Here, we tell the kids that all the trees are fairies that helps us to combat global warming. By such childish phrases, we are hoping to develop a love for trees in kids' minds. Likewise, we are expecting our project to educate and alert little children and put them into action.
In this team, Sobhadhara all of us are children of ages 9 and 13. We all have participated in the Space Apps challenge for the first time ever, and we all share a passion to take action against global warming. That's why we chose this challenge. First, we came up with a lot of ideas, and then we all decided to make a website educating kids for the reasons mentioned above. With the help of our parents, we came up with this simple website after a lot of negotiations and hard work. All in all, we all believe that this is a very good start to a very long journey in the Space Apps Challenges in the coming years.
To make our website, we used two key NASA resources, NASA Climate and NASA Climate Kids. In our website, we have included the video presented by NASA Climate Kids to explain the Greenhouse Effect. When developing our website in the future, we are definitively giving priority to NASA, JAXA, ESA, CSA and CNES as they are very reliable information sources.
