Sapling Adoption
Summary
Climate change is a world wide problem caused by the fossil fuel combustion. It has been scientifically proven that trees are one of the natural systems to scale down carbon emissions. Unfortunately due to natural , and humans causes trees have been slowly eliminated from the planet earth. The Tree Guardians have created , Sapling Adoption, an app that allows you to adopt/donate a sapling from local organizations. After receiving the sapling you can plant the tree in your community, or donate the sapling to a community in need of trees.
How We Addressed This Challenge
As a result to climate change, global warming has made a huge impact on Mother Earth, and on humans. Using NASA Earth Observatory, we observed charts, articles , global maps, and images of different forests. There are many possible solutions for reducing carbon in the atmosphere.
Trees naturally soak up the carbon that causes Global Warming, and in exchange it gives out the fresh oxygen that we inhale. Sadly trees have been continuously destroyed for the purpose of agriculture, and natural causes. That’s why we created Sapling Adoption, we connect people with organizations that distributes sapling. Help out by donating and or adopting a sapling, If you don’t know were to plant your new tree child look at our Map on the Tracking feature to see were the least amount of trees are. Planting trees is one way to help save the Earth, and rest of the Ecosystem.
How We Developed This Project
Global Warming and Climate change were the most immediate threats. Our team decided to do some research on how we could stop this horrible fate. We collect our data from,NASA Earth Observatory, USDA Forest Service. This research guided us to create, Sapling Adoption an app were you can “adopt” a tree form different organizations, and plant it on location where there is a limited amount of trees. We execute our project through reading, and writing. Next we split into groups, of coding, slide design, and graphics design. We used MIT APP Inventor, Canvas, and Google Doc.
How We Used Space Agency Data in This Project
We used the maps and photos from NASA Earth Observation for some of our research.
