There is concern worldwide that environmental issues we face today will have an impact on future generations. Your challenge is to create a way to communicate the importance of environmental responsibility to people of all ages.

Summary

The app Trash? has the proposal to connect collectors and waste producers by sharing the idea that what seems to be “trash” for someone may be the perfect raw material for someone else. So the waste can be donated to collectors, establishing a circular movement and continually reducing the impact of material disposal on our planet.

What is garbage for you may be the perfect raw material for someone else.


Until 2050, the global annual waste generation is expected to increase by 70%. Growing population and the high amount of waste incorrectly disposed only strengthens this distressing expectation.


That is why we have created the app Trash?. Trash? looks like Tinder but it is for garbage, it connects people who produce garbage with the one who reuse them. How about donating your glass bottles to a local artisan, your damaged clothes to a plastic artist or even your waste to a composter box?


Using data from NASA (Climate, Earth Observatory, and SEDAC), Trash? app creates an ecosystem that measures everyone’s impact on future generations, and makes us aware of how to take better care of our planet and its resources.


We believe that small actions have a great impact. Differently from other platforms, we connect people, projects and companies with interest in recycling and reuse, promoting the circular economy.
