Zainduz has received the following awards and nominations. Way to go!
As, humans are the only ones who can repair the world we have to make everyone aware of the serious impact of our today's actions in the future. That's the reason why we have created ZAINDUZ, a project based on a video of social awareness understandable to anyone. We have created it by following STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), we developed it using arts since we think that every technologycal project should have its creative and artistic part. Apart from this we have designed a web page where more information can be found after watching the video.
The video is not mainly made for childlike public, as the whole society has to be aware of this problems and try to solve them. So if we concern the rest of the society we will be also concerning future generations. It is very important to give people easy and enjoyable ways to learn more about the problems we have to face, by the well understunding of the problems it will be easier to solve them. Apart from learning, we need to motivate people to take part and help solving those problems. So we believe that a video it's a perfect way to encurage the society.
In the video the main causes of climate change and the effect those have and will have (if we don´t change our way of thinking and being) are explained. The longer we take to take action, worst the effects will be and more the difficult to reverse them.
The other main topic of the video is the waste management, for us is the base of the environmental problems. First of all, nowadays we use a linear economy where we produce, buy and throw the products, again and again, we buy for throwing away. After all this, the products end up like waste and as they are not designed to be recyled, even if we try to, it is extremelly difficult to achive good results. That is why we have to change the way we think and the way we make things, by implementing a circular economy, where a product never ends up as waste and every time we would need to produce something, it will be made using renovable energies.
For the ending, we wanted to emphasize that we are in the middle of a global pandemic and there are a lot of lives at stake but we never have to put aside the planet. If we don't take care of it, we can't solve the rest of the problems. Even if we are in a critic situation we have to take the correct decisions.
With all of this, we want people to be more concerned of the real consecuences that their actions have on the planet so that we can stop the climate change. It is a tool to rethink about our daily actions for making the world a better place and even if we are in the midle of a global pandemic we can never set aside our home, the planet. BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLANET B.
We are really concerned about the problems our world is suffering, and every time we can we try to make small differences, and when we read about this challenge we thought that it was perfectly suitable for us. Even though the society sees us like youngsters, we really want to make a difference and we thought this challenge was the perfect opportunity fot it, we want everyone to be aware of the environmental problems we are suffering and the need to repair them.
To fully understand our project we would like to mention the meaning of its name. ZAINDUZ which means "taking care of" in basque, the language spoken where we live (Basque country), this is one of the oldest living languages in the world. So, with that being said, we wanted to convey the message that if something is taken care of and protected, this will be preserved. So if we take good care of the planet this will last longer.
The software that we used for the video is Adobe Premiere Pro and we developed the website by using wix.
When we presented our project in the local phase (Valladolid). By a question the judges made us, they gave us a really good idea that we wanted to incorporate. All the inspiration credit is for them. But as we want our web page to be as complete as possible, we decided to incorporate a forum window so that the people who reads our page can share their opinion and discuss about the topic.
We did not have any extreme problems, we managed to work together really well as we both love this topic, want to learn more about it and share our opinions with the rest of the world. This hacktown has been the perfect opportunity for it.
We used space agency data for both the video and the web page.
First of all, for the video we used a lot of the data to learn more about the topic and get ideas for the video. Apart from that, we also incorporated some of the resources we were given for this challenge in our website (in the learn more window). So as the people who waches our video and wats to learn more about this topic can enter and enjoy them.
Here is a demo video of our solution. In it you can learn how to access our webpage and watch the full video we have created.
